What was Naval Warfare Like?

This is a picture that was painted of the Battle of Sluys. Just one of the many battles that took place on the sea between France and England.

During the Hundred Years' War, they aslo had naval warfare. They had several large battles during the hundred year span. The French and English both had huge naval fleets of ships that were ready for war. Naval warfare overall affected the war strategies. Sailorstried to throw stones or soap to impede enemy borders. If I see some guys on a boat throwing soap at me, I doubt that I would be scared. They also carried horses and cattle. The French had a permanent fleet to ferry in food, water and other supplies that were neccessary.
